About Gniewino

For investors

The population of our commune has a very small share in agriculture even though Gniewino is an agricultural area. Industry presides in the economic structure, especially the energy and processing sector. Employment in production is one of the highest in the country (over 60% of all the employed). 35% of the country's tinned fish products are manufactured here and one of the largest dairies of the area is located here. Based on the richness of nature the timber industry and mining of precious stones also predominates.

The Commune is an energy production basin based on the forces of nature: water (the largest in Poland pumped storage water power plant in Czymanów), wind (wind farm in Lisewo), sun (solar power plant in Gniewino) and biofuels from energy willow plantations. The location of Gniewino strengthens its attractiveness to investors. The Pomeranian Special Economic Zone spreads over 30 hectors of the commune and has full technical infrastructure left over after the Żarnowiec Nuclear Power Plant.

From here it is not far to the seat of the county Wejherowo, only 20km, it is only about 28km to Lębork, about 44 km to Gdynia and about 70 to Gdansk. The regional road  Wejherowo-Choczewo runs through the commune. At a distance of about 7 km from the southern borders of the commune runs the transregional route Gdynia-Szczecin. The seat of the commune, Gniewino, lies only 20 km from the coast.
